Dr. Kuang-Cheng Chen is a professor at the Graduate Institute of Intellectual Property of National Taipei University of Technology (Taipei Tech.). He received the degree of Master of Laws (LL.M.) at the University of California, Davis, School of Law (2007) and the Doctor of the Science of Law (J.S.D.) degree at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, College of Law (2010). In addition, he was a visiting scholar at the University of Illinois, College of Law (2010).

Dr. Chen has diverse experiences in intellectual property law academia in universities and industries. Before he joined Taipei Tech. in February 2017, he served as an assistant professor and associate professor in the Asia University and Shih Hsin University in Taiwan. He was an adjunct assistant professor and associate professor in the National Taipei College of Business, National Taichung University of Science and Technology, and Fu Jen Catholic University. He served as an expert member for (1) a research plan on the operation policies of private power producers (including renewable energy) and their mechanisms for operation management in the Taiwan Research Institute and (2) the organization for domain name dispute and settlement in the Institute for Information Industry, Science and Technology Law Institute. In addition, he was a specialist for tutoring and accompanying plan of the Taiwanese cultural and creative industries in the Ministry of Culture.

Dr. Chen’s current research and scope of teaching include: intellectual property, technology and law, biodiversity and law, empirical legal studies, law and economics, and renewable energy.
